Ryan Taylor greatest curler of all-time! No one can throw a stone like he can while drinking a beer at the same time. Its like magic.

I vote for Randy Ferbey!
I would like to vote for Sandra Schmirler for the greatest curler of all time! She was the skip of Canada’s first Olympic Gold Medallist Curling team and also won 3 Canadian and World Championships. Her death at the young age of 36 was sad and tragic. She was truly a great Canadian! Please help keep her memory alive by supporting The Sandra Schmirler Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to help families with children challenged by life threatening illnesses!
Hi everybody .. I will get to posting up pages and entries for the above. Although, for Russ Howard .. please see the Team Gushue Blog at this page .. http://www.curlingblog.com/gushue/category/russ-howard-second/
Thanks! HART
RUSS HOWARD is the greatest curler of all time no ifs, ands or buts about it! RUSS HOWARD won both the Brier and Silver Broom in 1987 and 1993. RUSS HOWARD holds the Brier record for most appearances as a skip 13 times and holds the record for for most Brier wins at 107 . RUSS HOWARD also had two appearances in the Canadian Mixed Curling Championships. In 1993 RUSS HOWARD became the first and only curler to ever win the Grand Slam of Curling(won the Brier,Silver Broom,World Curling Tour Championship and TSN Skins Game winner)RUSS HOWARD won the 1997 World Curling Tour Championship and the 1991 and 1992 TSN Skin Games .
The Greatest Curler Of All Time? That is a tough question to answer! The Greatest Curling Team Of All Time in my opinion is the Ernie Richardson Team! Ernie,Arnold,Garnet and Wes Richardson won the Saskatchewan Provincial Mens Curling Championship FIVE times! The Richardson team won the Canadian Brier Curling Championship FOUR times. They also won the Scotch Cup World Curling Championship FOUR times!
I repeat! Bob Labonte won the 1972 Silver Broom World Curling Championship and the greatest curler of all time was Bud Sommerville of Wisconsin U.S.A. He won the 1965 Scotch Cup World Championship and the 1974 Silver Broom World Championship of Curling.
THE GREATEST CURLER OF ALL TIME! …… I wish I could tell you the name of the greatest curler of all time but alas I can only share with you the memory of the curling game I played with him…My friend and I had skipped out of chemistry class to go practice at the curling club to which we belonged to as junior members to sharpen our skills for the upcoming Schoolboy Bonspeil…..While we were practicing an older member of the club approached us about sparing for him as two members of his rink would not be able to make it to the game he was scheduled to play…We gladly accepted his offer..When we took to the ice to start the game we found out this game was going to be unlike any game we had ever played before because the lead on the team we were playing for was BLIND….the skip quickly briefed me on the system they had developed that allowed the blind man to curl…after seeing the call from the skip for the blind man’s shot i was to go about 10 feet in front of the blind and tap my broom to the general area the skips broom was and tell him which turn to throw..the blind man aimed for the tapping and was surprisingly close to hitting the broom…unfortunately he was way light…on his next shot I told him that if he could hit the broom again and throw about twice the weight me and my friend could probably sweep it into the house for him …the blind man through the rock as hard as he could and my friend and I swept it as hard as we could and it was almost by divine intervention that his rock ended up perfectly frozen to the oppositions rock in the back rings…The opposing skip called for a freeze to the blind man’s rock but the shot was light and ended up perfectly gaurding the blind man’s rock….My friend and I managed to tuck in two more rocks behind that gaurd and we scored three points in the first end….the blind man continued to improve that game and made approximately 25% of his shots which I thought was truly remarkable…A large crowd began to gather..The team with the blind man had up until now had never won a game or even given anyone a close game …they were always beaten badly and usually had to shake hands early…Much to the delight of the crowd that gathered we won that game and i will never forget the tears in the blind man’s eyes when he thanked us for sparing for his team…I learned a lot about curling and life that day…I learned the value of teamwork and not giving up trying when things look bleak…In many ways I was blind until I curled with the blind man and saw the light!
For my choice as the second best curler of all time I would pick the big “O” Orest Meleschuk…..
Don Duguid was a great curler but the greatest curler of all time was his third ROD HUNTER.
