The Canadian skip wanted to give hereself a shot with her last rock. However, by doing what you suggest (and making the shot) she would have forced Sweden to make a very difficult circus/hero type of shot. Canada didn’t want to chance Sweden making a circus shot so she peeled her own guard and let Sweden have access to the four foot. Even Sweden’s shot could have been executed better but it left Bernard (CAN) a makeable short double for the win. By that time, nerves had taken over and Bernard gassed her final shot. But, I agree it never should have come to that.

I am completely amazed at the absolutely HORRIBLE play by Shuster and McCormick over the entire event, but when I saw the final two rocks by Cheryl Bernard… That was the dumbest sh1t I’ve ever seen.

Still, I would totally take my rocks to her house. Wah ooh ah ooh!

This is for Don Duguid. Why in the 10th end, 2 point lead, and a Canadian stone closet to the button, did the Canadian skip keep cleaning off the guards, when all she had to do was block all the access to the button. I was about to break the TV screen.
The button could have been made almost impossible to reach, unless the Swedish skip did a multiple run back, a very hard thing to do for the men, let alone a woman who does not have the speed to break up the mess. I was so angry at the Canadian skip. She blew it, and it was so obvious to everyone. Even the commentators failed to see it, both being former champions, and especially Don who has been doing this for decades.
If I am wrong, please explain to me, how? I was sitting there, all set to see Canada, win the gold, trying to understand why they were cleaning away the mess, when all that would have made it easy to win. Even if she had done the fabulous multi stone runback, it still would have been a single point, still a win for Canada.
I know Kevin Martin would never allow that set up to be lost. He would talk to his team, and miss the taleouts, look sad, and make it virtually impossible for the runback.
Grrrr….how stupid when the gold is right in front of you….

I don’t think i have ever seen two ends of curling played so poorly in my life. Canada’s skip needs a kick in the ass, now you can see why everyone was second guessing her. Your up by two and all you have to do in the 10th end is keep the house clean and she clogs the house with their rocks and allows a steal of two. Are you kidding me, then in extra ends, what was she thinking. Why would you sit and peal the entire game until your out of rocks? No wonder she really shouldn’t be there. And where is the coach, how stupid were her decisions? Is she that high on herself. If ity wasn’t for all of the mistakes made by the other team this game would have bene over before the 6th end. That was probably the worst decision making I have ever seen in all the eyars I have watched curling.

OMG! Could USA Shuster’s decision-making skills be ANY WORSE right now? He single handedly lost to Germany and Norway yesterday, thanks to huge EGO and fat, stupid face. I would not want to be a teammate right now, unless I could hit him in his fat, stupid face with my broom.

Cannot believe that USA Mens curling is over after Day 1.
