Sweden vs United States

Here’s the End by End scoring .. SCORE IS NOW FINAL)

END 1 – SWE 1, USA 0
END 2 – SWE 1, USA 1
END 3 – SWE 3, USA 1
END 4 – SWE 3, USA 5
END 5 – SWE 6, USA 5

* After End 5 … Sweden is showing team total of 78% efficiency, and United States showing 76% efficiency.

* Anette Norberg is hoping to end the ‘curling season’ with the triple play .. champions at the European Curling Championship in 2005, Olympic champion in Torino and here at the Ford Women’s Curling Championship

END 6 – SWE 7, USA 5

* Debbie McCormick just had an opportunity to tie with a draw to the 4 foot, but had a little too much weight. This could have been a pivotal scoring end.

* 7th End – Sweden’s 2nd Cathrine Lindahl missed both of her shots .. firstly going right through the house (a no-no) and second just grabbing the top guard on the double takeout attempt. Sweden’s skip Anette Norberg’s final shot was hoping for a triple takeout, but managed to only clear 2 of the three USA stones. United States skip Debbie McCormick makes the final shot and draws to the four foot. We’re going to get a great finish!

END 7 – SWE 7, USA 7

END 8 – SWE 9, USA 7

END 9 – SWE 9, USA 9

* Wow. E.o.m. (end of message) Enough said if you are watching this.

* in the 10th End .. and it’s Speed Curling! If time runs out .. you lose – game over. I think this is creating some issues and possible misses. USA has less than 2 minutes of regular play left before a timeout and skip stones.

* By the way .. it’s nice to see final championship games end up in the final stones, don’t you think? Debbie McCormack, counting 2 after her last shot, required that Anette Norberg draw to the 4 foot .. while it looked like it was a little heavy, it did stop in time, and counted for 1. Sweden Wins.

END 10 – SWE 10, USA 9

Way to go Team Sweden and Anette Norberg for her win!

Here are the statistics from Curlcast screen image

I said it before

I bet there’s gonna be a lot of new “Hearts on Fire” after this win! :D
