Ole Ingvaldsen, Norway’s national curling team coach, said Saturday that he expects skip Pal Trulsen’s rink to retire after the Torino Olympics.

Trulsen, the reigning Olympic and European champion, agreed.

“I think so,” said the 36-year-old. “You know, family, jobs, health and commitment, it all has to be there, however I`d like to come back for the Continental Cup.”

Trulsen was in Winnipeg this week for the World Curling Tour’s Canadian Open of Curling. His rink finished 1-3, failing to qualify for the quarter-finals at what could be their last cashspiel together.

Trulsen also said he sees Canada’s Brad Gushue as the favourite in Turin, counting himself out because, “lightning doesn’t strike you twice.”
