Fry and his team of Kyle Werenich, Ross McFadyen, and Cory Naharnie defeated Peter Prokopowich of Dauphin 10-3 in the final, earning $6,500 and vaulting to the top of the MCT money standings. Earlier this season Fry lost in tour finals in Beausejour, Portage and Stonewall, on tap of bowing to Randy Dutiaume in the 2005 Manitoba Safeway Select final.
Fry beat Don Spriggs of Portage 11-3, while Prokopowich was a 9-6 winner over Graham Freeman of Virden in the semi-finals. The losing semi-finalists settled for $3,500 apiece, while Wes Jonasson of Arborg, Ryan Hyde of Portage, Sam Antila of Thompson, and Dave Boehmer of Petersfield earned $2,500 each for reaching the quarter-finals (32 teams-8 qualifiers).
